RESEARCH
We approach questions at a variety of temporal and spatial scales, with a diversity of tools ranging from ecophysiological studies at tree and stand level, to remote sensing analysis of vegetation and landscape dynamics.
We aim to understand the response of forest ecosystems to changing environmental and social conditions, and to apply this knowledge for the development of sustainable forestry.
PLANNING
Based on understanding of forest functioning, guidelines are delivered for forest planning, considering forest resilience to environmental disturbances and ensuring continued provision of ecosystem services. We streamline forest planning processes to develop land use direction for public land and to guide local management decisions that meet economic, environmental, social and cultural objectives.
EDUCATION
BSc and MSc courses are given within the framework of degree programs in forestry and agriculture at the University of Molise.
